8 Movie Sequels You Didn't Know Were Coming In 2019

2. Reign Of The Supermen

Reign Of The Supermen
DC Comics

Reign Of The Supermen is the only sequel on this list to not even have an original film yet.

As announced at the event last year, this summer's San Diego Comic-Con will premiere Death of Superman, an animated movie that will bring Superman's epic clash with Doomsday to the screen after it was recently seen in Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice.

And then, in 2019, Reign of the Supermen will follow - and since it's based on the comic-book of the same name, we already know quite a lot about the story.

After Superman's death in the accurately-titled Death Of Superman, four new heroes emerge, each of them claiming to be Superman: The Man Of Steel, a hammer-wielding former weapons designer; The Man Of Tomorrow, also known as the Cyborg Superman; The Metropolis Kid, a teenage clone of Superman; and The Last Son Of Krypton, a visor-wearing badass.

No spoilers, but Reign Of The Supermen is a crazy tale involving giant robot battlesuits, missiles, and widespread destruction. It remains to be seen just how closely the adaptation will follow the source material, but if it's faithful, fans who haven't read the comic will be able to witness one of Superman's best stories in gorgeously-rendered computer animation.

In 2022, he took charge of WhoCulture and has grown it into the biggest Doctor Who channel on YouTube, and one of the biggest Doctor Who communities on the web full-stop. He has been writing and video editing since his early teens, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers, off the back of a burning obsession with the Matt Smith era of the show. Like many his age, he first got into Doctor Who with the 2005 revival, but has since gone back and fallen in love with the classic years too. If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order, or to give you a random factoid about the making of Gridlock, Danny is the person to ask!
