8 Reasons Why Superman Should Be In Shazam!

4. Cementing Justice League's Take On Supes

For all the flaws, inconsistencies, and bad CGI-upper lips, the theatrically released version of Justice League at least tried to take Superman in the right direction.

The switch may have been tonally jarring and completely nonsensical, but Whedon's reshoots did attempt to give audiences a more hopeful and optimistic Superman than the previous films had. Because it was so jarring and done in such an unbeloved film, Shazam! offers the chance to fully cement this version of the character and allow Cavill to finally, truly become this generation's definitive take on Superman.

As previously discussed, Shazam! looks to be a much more light-hearted film than prior entries in the DCEU, making it the perfect chance to show a big-blue-boy-scot rendition of the classic character. Justice Leauge ended with him fully embracing the Christopher Reeves-esque role and backstory, even going so far as to include the classic pulling open of the shirt shot.

If he does indeed appear in Shazam!, it will be audiences' first time seeing him since then and cementing this happier version of the character would go a long way. It would offer some consistency and give a real sense of development and forward momentum to the character.
