8 Recent Box Office Bombs That Could Still Get Sequels

1. Solo: A Star Wars Story

Budget: $275 million

Box Office: $392,924,807

One of the biggest box office losers in Hollywood history, Solo: A Star Wars Story should have a 0% chance of having a sequel green lit by Disney. Being the first live action box office bomb in the star wars franchise is a heavy cross to bear, and the failure of a Star Wars film so soon after the success of Star Wars: The Force Awakens was one of the biggest box office stories of the decade although there may be hope for Solo fans.

Solo's extensive re-shoots by director Ron Howard ballooned the budget to record heights making the breakeven point for Solo far greater than the majority of films and in an ideal world this would not be the case again.

The signing of actors Alden Ehrenreich and Emilia Clarke to multiple picture deals combined with the tease of Ray Park's Darth Maul returning in a greater role suggests that future Solo stories are there and positive fan reception evidenced by the #MakeSolo2Happen campaign all suggests that another Solo film may not bomb.

Elliot Pedley hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
