8 Star Wars Movie Scenes Where Reshoots Are Painfully Obvious

7. Obi Wan's Changing Hairpiece - The Phantom Menace

In his first of many appearances on this list, Ewan McGregor caused a bit of an issue when he turned up to film his reshoots on The Phantom Menace.

The problem was that once he wrapped on Star Wars, the actor immediately moved onto the production of Rogue Trader, which required him to physically change his appearance.

When he came back to shoot with George Lucas, the production team were forced to give McGregor a new hairpiece to mimic the style he was sporting in the previous footage. This is particularly distracting in the new sequences, as it's plain as day the actor is wearing a wig. It's not even close when you see the reshot footage on Naboo towards the climax and the original side by side.

What makes the reshoots painfully obvious, though, is the mistake the costume department made during filming. In some amended shots, specifically on Tatooine, Obi Wan's braid is on the left side of his head, when it should be on the right.
