8 Things You Need To Know About Ben Affleck's Batman Movie
7. It's Going To Be The First Part Of A Trilogy
What, you thought Warner Bros. were only going to make the one movie starring their biggest box office draw? Based on how well Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Trilogy performed, the studio obviously wants to find similar success with their new Caped Crusader, an understandable decision when you take into account the fact that they're taking a huge gamble with the likes of Wonder Woman and Shazam. Considering the fact that Daredevil soured Affleck on superhero movies, it's amazing that he's signed up not only for Batman V Superman, Justice League, and a solo movie, but cameos in pretty much every other DC Extended Universe release as well as two additional Batman features according to a report which started doing the rounds back in the summer. He's committed to Batman for a very, very long time. The desire to make a trilogy of Batman movies reportedly stems from how overwhelmingly happy Warner Bros. execs were after an early screening of Batman V Superman, with Affleck a clear standout and someone they want to keep around for the foreseeable future. Seeing as these movies will help to bring more eyes to his smaller directorial projects, why wouldn't Affleck say yes to an entire trilogy?
