8 Upcoming Movies That Had Massive Reshoots
2. Finding Dory
The Reshoots: Now, this reshoot isn't massive in the sense of its scope, but in terms of importance? Absolutely. Deep in production, director Andrew Stanton realised that he required additional lines of crucial dialogue from Ellen DeGeneres for an incredibly important ending sequence. As Ellen was busy filming her talk show, Stanton had to visit her at the set and "pull her to a closet really quickly with a microphone in between meetings".
Is this the first movie to ever have material re-recorded in a closet? Perhaps.
Will It Be Any Good?: Early reviews certainly suggest so, even if there's a quiet agreement that it's not quite on the level of Pixar's very best movies (a high bar of quality, no doubt).
As uninspired as the movie's marketing campaign has been so far, it seems like Pixar stuck the landing as they usually do.
