Relation: Second Cousins (Once Removed) Unless you're a genealogist, chances are, you're not going to be quite sure how tenth cousins, second cousins and cousins with the (once, twice removed etc) moniker are actually related. Unfortunately, no one here is a genealogists, so you won't get a definitive answer, but what is certain is this: the (removed) moniker denotes different generations i.e. Brooke and Streep are from different generations of their extremely extended families. If you're looking for an even more ridiculous and tenuous family tie, then how about the fact that Meryl Streep and Glenn Close are 15th cousins once removed? It may be possible that there's a limit on how distantly related you can be with someone before you can stop calling them your cousin, but judging from some of the entries on this list, it wouldn't be surprising if everyone in Hollywood really are related to each other.
