7. Cliffhanger (1993)

Sylvester Stallone as mountain ranger. Enough said. Do I need to go on? OK, for the sake of consistency lets elaborate. Sylvester Stallone as a mountain ranger and John Lithgow in all his John Lithgowey bad guy glory are pitted against each other in a frantic search for suitcases full of $100 million (yes it is OK to say that in your best Doctor Evil voice). The suitcases are strewn about the mountainside so Sly is called back into action to find them. Michael Rooker is Sly's best friend. I don't have much to add to that fact but hey, Michael Rooker! This movie has it all: mountain climbing, helicopters, explosions, melodrama, tense scenes that take place on mountain climbing cables strewn across vast chasms that were in no way filmed on a sound stage set against poorly rendered green screen footage . It's worth the price of admission just to watch Sly try to look convincing as a mountain climber, a profession usually not conducive to steroid fueled muscle bulk. As usual, he does not disappoint.
