9 Female DC Superheroes Who Also Deserve Solo Movies
2. Catwoman
Catwoman technically already had her chance at a solo movie, but that was a Catwoman movie in name only; it didn't feature Selina Kyle, it had no connections to the Batman mythos, and even if it did it was so eye-gougingly terrible that we'd all deny it anyway.
The point is that Catwoman is already a very well-known and popular character, and DC would be foolish not to give Selina a real shot in the spotlight.
Catwoman already has huge amounts of possibilities for crossovers in the rest of the DCEU. She will more likely than not play into Gotham City Sirens, and she could easily make appearances in The Batman, Batgirl, or even Suicide Squad 2 just to name a few. But in regards to a solo outing, it's obviously got to be a heist movie.
A classy, subdued heist in the vein of The Thomas Crown Affair as opposed to something like Ocean's 11 or Ant-Man, with lots of fancy balls and gallery openings for Selina to sleuth her way through and then later steal everything in sight as the comic book world's most famous cat burglar.
Even as a casual fan, you've probably seen plenty of examples of Catwoman. Michelle Pfeiffer's portrayal in Batman Returns is still probably the most iconic, but Anne Hathaway's turn in The Dark Knight Rises is surprisingly one of the best elements of that movie.
Otherwise, check out her various appearances in Batman: The Animated Series or some of her more recent solo comic series.
