9 Great MCU Characters Who'll Never Get A Solo Movie
1. The Punisher
Daredevil season two really managed to build on the greatness of the first year; it fleshed out the characters, even more, it had some great action and it introduced some cool new players too. Jon Bernthal’s Punisher obviously takes the top prize, since he managed to outshine the title character on his own show.
Bernthal nailed the ruthless nature of Frank Castle but managed to add some humanity too. In a fair universe he'd be headlining his own movie now, but this universe isn’t fair. The first issue is that a potential movie would need to be R rated, and Disney won’t allow that. The second is that there have been three Punisher movies already, and none of them have been critical or commercial darlings.
The upside is The Punisher is getting his own show, and maybe a dark, gritty series is just what old Frank needs.
