3. Aquaman
Jason Momoa has a task on his hands. Just a year after Justice League hit theaters to a lukewarm response, Mamoa as Aquaman must convince viewers that his movie is no bait-and-switch.
We got to see glimpses of what can be done to portray underwater elements such as Mera’s hydrokinesis and Aquaman’s lightspeed swimming. We even got a peek at the water bubbles that will be used so characters can speak to one another. All of that plus a look at Aquaman in his Atlantean armor and Arthur Curry maybe ready for his solo venture.
Acting alongside Momoa will be Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as Aquaman’s brother Orm, and Willem Dafoe, as his advisor Vulko. Black Manta is also confirmed to make an appearance. The plot is unknown but a casting call on Acting-Auditions.org has given hints to what the film may be about:
“…Aquaman, the reluctant ruler of the underwater kingdom of Atlantis, is caught between surface dwellers that are always polluting the globe, and his own people who are ready to invade the surface. He must balance both the nations and deal with new enemies from within the kingdom while learning more about his heritage”
