2. Holly Go-Lightly - Breakfast At Tiffany's

Yes, Holly Go-Lightly is without a doubt a filmic icon, both in fashion and in her nature. "Breakfast at Tiffany's" is in many a pretty groundbreaking movie considering the time. The fresh nature of the classic film is all due to the protagonist, a mysterious girl floating through her life like its all a strange puzzle. She's fascinated by the people around her, as well as the title jewelry company, and with the whimsical side of life. On the other hand, she runs messages for an incriminated mob boss and drug ring. The fact that things like this little messaging job seem to be more or less insignificant to her overall life is what makes her an oddball. Granted, she isn't supposed to be portrayed as necessarily grounded, I mean she is legally married to an older man and intentionally buries it in her conversations with Paul. Yet, there's something more deeply insane about Holly, in the way she moves through life. How she slips in and out of George's apartment like that's just okay, and how she has clearly manipulated her landlord. Holly Go-Lightly created a demeanor for a different kind of crazy. While it is surely easy to be fooled by her beautiful singing voice, she seems to be consistently on the verge of a mental explosion.
