9 Most Undeserved Movie Plot Twists
4. Skyfall: Raoul's Plan To Get Captured
Alan Partridge is probably a big fan of Skyfall, because it absolutely doesn't get Bond wrong. It's up there with the best of 007's outings, but it's a well known fact that every time a villain does the whole 'everything that's happened was all part of my plan' thing, huge plotholes open up. This is certainly the case with Javier Bardem’s Raoul Silva.
The movie's big twist kicks it when it transpires that former MI6 agent Raoul's diabolical scheme was to be captured by Bond all along, so he could take revenge on Judy Dench's M while she testified at a public enquiry.
But here's the thing: to pull this plan off, you'd have to literally be god because it's dependent on factors beyond Raoul's control. He needed to account for Bond following him to that remote island and taking him alive, as well as the international travel and prisoner processing time to ensure his escape coincided with M's hearing.
Even Doctor Evil's plans were more plausible than this.
