9 Movie Spoilers We Didn’t Know Last Week (May 24th)

The rather unexpected news broke recently that the Golden Age Green Lantern, Alan Scott, will reportedly appear in Green Lantern Corps. Though the character was the first to don the Green Lantern name, the character has been retconned enough in the comics that many assumed he'd simply be missed out of a Green Lantern Corps movie, especially one which could pull off a fine double act between Hal Jordan and John Stewart.

Still, the part could be ripe for a middle-aged actor looking to play the sage mentor, and his mere presence will invite a billion fanboy questions about alternate universes, not to mention whether or not this version of Scott will be gay (as he has been since his 2012 retcon).

This is one of those fascinating announcements that just turns so much of what we thought we knew on its head.
