9 Perfectly Innocent Pop Songs Forever Ruined By Movie Violence

2. The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo (2011)

vangerThe song: 'Orinoco Flow' by Enya David Fincher may have stayed surprisingly faithful to both the source novels and to Niels Arden Oplev's Swedish original film, but there is at least one change that didn't pass by unnoticed. During the scene in which journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Daniel Craig) is being tortured by his captor Martin Vanger (Stellan SkarsgÄrd), the latter takes a few minutes out of explaining his motives to lighten the mood with some music. His song of choice could hardly be less appropriate. Mikael is strapped to a harness, hung from the ceiling and close to suffocating to death. There's a good chance that the last words he may ever hear are ''sail away, sail away, sail away." Fortunately the hacker-turned-heroine Lisbeth Salander (Rooney Mara) springs from the shadows and, with a well-aimed swing of a golf club, sends Martin to the floor. She doesn't, however, switch off the music.
