9 Potential Ways Marvel May Have Screwed Up Thor: The Dark World

5. Too Much Humour

Darcy Jane Thor This movie is called Thor: The Dark World. The universe is at stake. The tone should be darker - Simple as that really. It is, therefore, a little bit baffling to imagine where someone like Darcy Lewis might fit in. The trailer alone has several instances of humour in it (such as Thor's easy defeat of the rock warrior and subsequent comment, as well as as the interaction between Jane Foster and Loki) and with Lewis in tow as well (a character who was essentially comic relief in the first movie), it is something of a worry that too many attempts to raise a laugh could take away from the fact that this movie is about a plot that could destroy the very existence of these characters. Humour is great, don't get me wrong, but the mood simply must portray a sense of fear amongst the characters, otherwise we will be unable to take the threat that they face as serious as we should be taking it.
