9 Times You Had To Be Tricked Into Seeing Great Movies

1. Avengers: Infinity War

In an age where audiences know pretty much everything going into a big tentpole blockbuster, movie studios have had to get a little creative in order to keep the biggest surprises under wraps.

Take Infinity War - one of the most successful movies of all time, and one of the most beloved in the entire MCU. Its trailers got everyone hyped beyond belief, but they also tricked us into expecting certain events that never actually materialised.

For instance, pre-release marketing doctored footage to make it appear as though Hulk was in scenes he wasn't and that Thanos had fewer Infinity Stones than he actually did.

Of course, a major plotline in the movie is Bruce Banner being unable to transform into the Hulk after receiving a major beatdown from the Mad Titan in the opening scene, with the trailers hiding this entirely. Likewise, Thanos' lack of Infinity Stones maintained the suspense in the final scenes, allowing the eventual snap to go down without everyone having already pieced it together from the trailers.

We'd have all seen it anyway, but this meant some of the biggest secrets could be enjoyed to their maximum effect.

With so much chopping and changing on Endgame and Infinity War, with characters and storylines moving from movie to movie until the last minute, it's unclear whether this footage was ever intended to be in the film, or was simply made to preserve the surprises.
