The Sequel Already In Development: Fifty Shades Freed

There were lots of folk who hoped that somehow the Fifty Shades Of Grey movie adaptation would bomb at the box office and that would be the end of Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey's sexual exploits as far as the cinema was concerned, but alas... it was huge success (of course), and so Hollywood already has two sequels - set to be shot back-to-back - in the pipeline.

The movies, Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed, are being filmed at this very moment, and will chronicle the further adventures of two of the worst characters in all of fiction as they argue, get married, argue, and repeatedly revisit Christian's "Red Room of Pain" to participate in acts of sexual humiliation.

If the first Fifty Shades film was a trash can, these follow-ups are sure to be the actual trash. And that's a polite way of saying that Sam Taylor-Johnson very nearly managed to make the first film watchable, but with her having left the franchise to make way for director James Foley (whose recent filmmaker efforts have been middling to poor), the next chapters are sure to be insufferable.
