9 Weird (But Plausible) Superhero Casting Choices That Need To Happen
1. Magneto & Professor X - Keegan Michael Key & Jordan Peele
One of the long circulating rumours about the MCU's X-Men is that, to modernise the group, Professor X and Magneto will be cast as people of colour. If this is true, then these suggestions for the old frenemies should be more than adequate...
Most familiar with Key & Peele will instantly be able to identify two issues with the actors playing Magneto and Professor X - they're very much associated with comedy and are rather young to portray modern day versions of the characters.
In regards to their comedic background, the duo's sketches featured them in a multitude of different roles, a lot of which weren't inherently comedic. Peele took on personas that were everything from menacing and enigmatic to calm and collected, and did so masterfully. These elements would be well utilised were the filmmaker given a shot at portraying Charles Xavier.
As for Key, the actor has similar range and yet often portrayed the more aggressive characters, hence why he'd be better suited to Magneto. The sketches displayed Key's major talent and so giving him a role like Magneto would really help show audiences that he has more than comedy in his skill-set.
Whether a serious or comedic route is taken though, Key & Peele's vast chemistry with one another would make sure that the relationship between Magneto and Professor X would be a delight to watch.
Finally, and somewhat unrelated, Jordan Peele would be a fantastic choice to direct the MCU X-Men films.
