3. Ride Till You Die - The Dream Child
Dan Jordan was first introduced in The Dream Master, surviving the film and making it out with Alice as his girlfriend, however, The Dream Child would see Freddy catching up with the jock in one of the franchise's best-ever moments.
Whilst driving his truck after being lured to find Alice by Freddy, Dan falls asleep behind the wheel, triggering a sequence of him driving alongside Freddy first in his truck, and then on a red motorcycle.
The vehicle slowly starts to attach itself to its driver, with Dan becoming a Ghost Rider-styled motorcycle-man. Freddy's 'this boy has a need for speed' and 'wanna make babies?' to Dan and Alice are also undoubtedly some of the nastiest quips the killer has managed, with the jock never even getting to hear that he was going to be a father.
Dan is undoubtedly a character most would associate with being the archetypal hero, especially after surviving his first encounter with Freddy, however, his shocking death at the start of The Dream Child was a potent reminder that Krueger hardly ever plays fair.
