All The Fox Film Franchises Disney Now Owns

10. The Simpsons

Yes, we know; much like President Trump, Disney's ownership of Fox was something The Simpsons predicted long ago. Uncanny, we're sure. And given how dramatically the cartoon's tone and content diverged from anything Disney were doing back when the show first arrived in 1989, it's strange to imagine Homer Simpson being part of the same stable as Mickey Mouse.

Of course, we're here to talk primarily about the movies, and despite its longevity on television, we admit it's perhaps premature to describe The Simpsons as a big screen franchise. However, 2007's The Simpsons Movie was widely considered a huge success, with great reviews and $527 million in box office receipts.

There's been talk of a second Simpsons movie ever since - and this past summer, the show's producers quietly confirmed that a sequel is indeed in the early stages of development. Hard to imagine Disney wouldn't want to see that come to fruition.
