All The Warner Bros. Films Coming To HBO Max In 2021
1. Cry Macho - TBA
Cry Macho follows an old mule rider who's tasked with bringing a young boy all the way from rural Mexico to Texas, away from his alcoholic mother.
And if that intro doesn't just scream Clint Eastwood, then you haven't been paying attention.
Indeed, although the film is based on the novel by Richard Nash, Eastwood is producing, directing and starring in the adaptation, probably as the washed up old rodeo star as opposed to the young boy. But who knows? CGI is a wonderful thing.
Although Eastwood is nothing short of a Hollywood legend, his past few films have been a little hit or miss. Richard Jewell, The Mule and The 15:17 to Paris all received mixed to negative reviews from critics, and his last commercial success was Sully back in 2016.
However, with the film script having been written by the original author of the novel, as well as Nick Schenk, the writer of Eastwood's Gran Torino, Cry Macho should hopefully see a reversal in fortunes for Eastwood's current mini slump.
Like with the last few films there's not even a hint of a release date given by Warner Bros., but once it's out, you'll have the whole month to relax, grab a whiskey, and watch the old cowboy trail movie.
