An A-Z Guide To Ryan Gosling

N: Nicolas Winding Refn ryan-gosling-600x300 The second name in Gosling€™s lexicon of B.F.F€™s, Refn is the man responsible for turning the name of Gosling into a brand. All it took was some ultra violence, a kick ass soundtrack, and a white bomber jacket complete with scorpion logo. Refn is the puppet master behind Gosling€™s €˜bad€™ side, and helped crystallize the unrefined darkness that his actor had once channeled with the likes of The Believer and Murder By Numbers. Gosling following the huge success of Refn€™s Pusher trilogy and the so-so Bronson had personally selected him to direct Drive, and what a choice it was. Refn€™s silky neo-noir visuals and no nonsense brutality worked perfectly with Gosling€™s brooding isolation, and helped to fashion one of the 21st Centuries most iconic characters. The two are currently working of their next project together, Only God Forgives. It is going to be amaze-balls! O: Oscar Nominated 811574_3_6a89_half-nelson Oscar nominations are not exactly the cause for celebration that they once were. It now seems that most big names in Hollywood have received at least one nomination in their career, and Gosling is no different. It is, contrary to my previous statement, still an achievement for any one professional to have their work noticed in such a way. Although he missed out on the gold, and rightly so, to Forrest Whittaker, Gosling was from that point considered a €˜proper€™ actor. The role was that of Dan Dunne from Half Nelson, and Gosling did a terrific job in portraying the psychologically unstable high school teacher. Dan€™s blend of arrogance and helpless isolation was prime Gosling material, and even to this day, forms a kind of model for the actor€™s other performances. P: Punching Bag

He may be a sex symbol, but Ryan Gosling is not afraid to take a beating on screen. So far over the course of his relatively short career, Gosling has been punched, kicked, slapped, stabbed, pushed to his death and crushed up in a car. Many leading men tend to worry about their image, about being perceived as faultless and able to overcome any obstacle. Ryan Gosing, on the other hand, seems to be willing to let the chips fall where they may. There is no denying that Gosling perceives his own appeal to audiences, and like most A-listers, probably has quite the ego. But when it comes to his work, Gosling is deadly serious and will do all that is necessary to make his character the person they need to be. And if that person needs a black eye or a sucking chest wound, then so be it. One only need to look at the poster for Only God Forgives, to see that his image means nothing to him.
