After comparing Ant-Man to Ant-Man and The Wasp based on the above topics, by a score of 7-0, the 2018 sequel wins. While this looks like an absolute landslide, it was actually a lot closer than it may appear.
While Ant-Man and The Wasp won every category, a lot of them were almost too close to call. Both movies are among the funniest in the MCU, it is essentially Randall Park's character that is the difference between the point. Similarly, neither villain is particularly compelling, so it is by the slightest margin that the sequel gained this point, as the lesser of two evils.
While both movies are great fun, with the sequel being slightly better, they will nonetheless sit within the second tier of MCU movies, unable to reach the heights the likes of Infinity War, Black Panther, or Thor Ragnarok achieved, while sitting far above the disappointments of the Iron Man sequels and Thor: Dark World.
