11. Total Recall - You blabbed Quaid!
One of Schwarzenegger's best, Total Recall is also one of his most violent but as it's directed by Paul Verhoeven, you wouldn't expect anything less. Schwarzenegger is Douglas Quaid, an ''average Joe'' who keeps having reoccurring dreams about another life on Mars. He goes to Recall, a company that implants false memories, to experience a fake vacation on mars where he is a secret agent. However, the procedure goes wrong and the lines between fantasy and reality become blurred as he starts finding out about his true identity. Based of Philip K. Dick's short story "We Can Remember It for You Wholesale",the film was criticized by some for casting Schwarzenegger in the role of Quaid who is supposed far more average looking than the big muscled Austrian. In fact, before he came on board, Richard Dreyfuss, Patrick Swayze and William Hurt were all considered for the role. After Dino De Laurentiis's production company collapsed and the rights for Total Recall became available, Schwarzenegger persuaded Carolco to buy them and make it a starring feature for himself. He was also the one who suggested Verhoeven should direct after being impressed by RoboCop. The film has just been remade with Colin Farrell and universally panned by everyone. In this scene, Quaid comes back from Recall to be dragged away at gunpoint buy is co-worker Harry. When Quaid asks ''WHAT THE FUCK DID I DO WRONG??,'' Harry explains ''You blabbed Quaid, you blabbed about Mars!'' What follows is a violent 4-on-1 fight involving a gory chop to a forehead. A fine example of how to choreograph a fight scene. You can see the scene
