7. Will The Hulk/Banner Conflict Lead To "Professor Hulk"?

What We Know

Established over a three movie arc, Hulk and Bruce Banner's dynamic has changed massively from the start of the MCU. As Thor: Ragnarok revealed, Banner's fears about maintaining control came to be a reality and in Infinity War Hulk bit back at Banner "using him" whenever he needed the help but never letting him "drive" when there wasn't a threat.

Avengers 4 will mark the third movie in - and conclusion to - that particular arc as Mark Ruffalo has previously established.

What We Need To Know

Is the conflict going to end with a victor? Could Banner banish Hulk altogether? Would he even want to? Or could Hulk take control again as he did in Thor: Ragnarok and kick Banner out entirely? He certainly seems pissed off enough.

More likely, thanks to the allegedly official artwork for Avengers 4 showing Hulk wearing a costume and appearing smaller, it could be that we get to see an amalgamation of the characters. The so-called Professor Hulk could be introduced as a marriage of Banner/Hulk's personalities, which would presumably resolve their battle over control.
