15. The Silver Surfer Is In

The Rumour

After an actor was listed on the Metacritic cast-list as playing the Silver Surfer in Avengers: Infinity War, rumours arose that he would be a key part of the narrative - and specifically to taking Thanos down.

Response

The Russos ruled this one out fairly early, saying that while it might be a possibility when/if the Disney-Fox merger goes through it's not happening yet.

It's something of a shame, as the Silvetr Surfer deserves another go on the big screen after the awful second Fantastic Four movie. Plus he's the kind of cosmic entity who might be powerful enough to actually do anything about Thanos.

It's just a shame that the Fox deal seems to be too far off to make it happen (unless there's been an agreement nobody knows about concerning individual characters).
