Avengers 5: Predicting Which Marvel Character Will Be Next To Die
8. Thor
With Captain America now an old man, Iron Man and Black Widow dead, Hulk badly injured, and Hawkeye gearing up for retirement ahead of his Disney+ series, Chris Hemsworth's Thor is pretty much the only original Avenger left standing at this point. After heading into outer space with the Guardians of the Galaxy, the God of Thunder's story will continue in Thor: Love and Thunder.
However, that movie promises to introduce a brand new Thor as Natalie Portman gears up to make her return as Jane Foster and become the new Thor (just like in the comic books). That gives the MCU two Thors, and with Phase 4 seemingly all about passing mantles, it definitely feels like the stage is being set for Jane to stick around for the foreseeable future.
That version of the character will need more time to establish herself than just Love and Thunder, so having them both appear in Avengers 5 makes sense. Should Earth's Mightiest Heroes find themselves facing a threat like Galactus, then the original Thor unleashing the full extent of his powers during his final stand and allowing Jane to usher in a new era for Asgard after his fall would definitely be poetic.
