Avengers: Age Of Ultron - 15 Obscure Easter Eggs You Probably Missed

1. Churchill's Ship

Another very complex one to spot, but worthwhile all the same, particularly for fans of Namor The Submariner.

When the Avengers and Ultron go in search of Ulysses Klaue, they find him ensconced on the African coast in a ship called the Churchill. The name is hugely important,

In Marvel lore, in 1915, Winston Churchill sent Ernest Shackleton on a voyage to the Antarctic to recover some Vibranium - the same metal Klaue has stock-piled within the ship named after the former PrIme Minister.

When Shackleton's ship disappeared, Leonard McKenzie followed the trail in 1920, and when they used charges to blow through the ice, they caused death and destruction in Atlantis, prompting Princess Fen to head to the surface to prove her mettle. She fell in love with McKenzie and became pregnant with Namor.

Does that mean Marvel might entertain the idea of bringing Namor to the MCU? Well, no, not yet, since Universal apparently still own the rights. Still, a nice reference all the same.
