Avengers: Age Of Ultron - 15 Theories That Were Utter Bull

The Theory: With the Time, Mind and Reality Infinity Stones unaccounted for, Captain America would somehow stumble across the Time Stone and be transported back to the 1940s. There he could experience the early days of the Ultron program and have a dance with Peggy before deciding he liked the future too much to stay.

The Supposed Evidence: A wild one in comparison to some of the other suggestions, but the shots of Cap back in the '40s seemed suggestive.

The Reality: It's no more than a hallucination induced by Scarlet Witch, who uses the Avengers biggest fears against them. Cap's is clearly that he's lost his opportunity to live the life he was supposed to, as well as vague fears that he let people around him die in his absence.

Would It Have Been Better? Not in a million years. It's getting a little old seeing Cap wrestling with the ghosts of the past - though it's an inevitably part of his character - and having him actually go back there would have been silly.
