The Theory: Agent Coulson would be back, along with his new SHIELD agent team-mates.
The Supposed Evidence: The Agents Of SHIELD exist in the MCU and surely just ignoring them would be foolish?
The Reality: As Joss Whedon said while stamping his foot, Agent Coulson is still dead in the film series. And stop asking questions about it.
Would It Have Been Better? It would have been nice to see some validation for the TV show spin-off, which might have led to better tie-in possibilities for Coulson's team going forward.
