In the same vein regarding how seasoned character stories end, there is consideration to be had regarding how Endgame leaves the Avengers as an organization. The Avengers had disassembled at the end of Civil War, and there was no real indication that they were back together (in title, at least) by the end of Infinity War.

Thus, it very much feels like Endgame may not be the end for some seasoned heroes, but also the final nail in the Avengers coffin. While it is possible that the Avengers name could be carried on by the future MCU heroes such as Spider-Man, Black Panther, and Doctor Strange, the use of the name would always carry with it a desire to see the original six reprising their roles in the team – something which may not be possible once Endgame is done.

Now, it’s not to say that cross-over films won’t happen in the future, but the MCU might take a different direction such as introducing a team like the Thunderbolts to filmgoers. A departure from the Avengers title might be the fresh take that the future MCU needs, but similarly to the fate of the heroes involved, it would need to be handled properly and within the scope of what we as viewers already know and can expect from the MCU.
