Avengers: Endgame - Every Character Ranked Worst To Best
6. Hawkeye/Ronin
Those of us in the know already know that Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye is a steely-eyed missile man and an underappreciated gem who deserves way better than he gets for most of the MCU. Finally, in Endgame, we see what happens when he's allowed to step up.
Admittedly, it comes at a cost of some of his sanity, but there's no denying the fact that Hawkeye is arguably the only character who could have gone through that dark redesign and still retain his fundamental charm. It helps, of course, that the script softens him very quickly as he comes back into the Avengers fray, but even then he looks like an even bigger badass than he already did.
Him getting a happy ending is exactly as it should be and let's hope this stronger characterisation lasts into his Disney+ TV show.
5. Ant-Man
Considering he was left out of Infinity War entirely, it's only right that Paul Rudd's Scott Lang gets such a rewarding part to play in Endgame. He's effectively the catalyst for the entire time travel plan and he still walks around acting like he never quite belongs in the most delightfully charming way imaginable.
His quips are welcome and never feel shoe-horned in and there's still a wide-eyed naivety about his performance that is just completely irresistible, which makes his Giant Man moment at the end even more rewarding.
Again, he deserves more, so we can only hope the rumoured Ant-Man 3 project does indeed go ahead.
