Avengers: Endgame - How Every Main Character Will Be Totally Different

Then

In the wake of Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2, Rocket went through the biggest change of all of the characters. That film was as much about him accepting his place in his new family - and resisting his urge to alienate himself - as it was about Star Lord finding his own identity.

He then struck out on his own with Groot and Thor in Infinity War, but he was still very much part of the Guardians family. No amount of sass could hide that.

Now

There's not a Guardians team left, so Rocket will presumably be an Avenger now, but crucially, he's gone back to being alone. These new allies won't replace his family, no matter how fond he is of Thor, and he's likely to be in a particularly dark place after watching Groot die for the second time in a matter of years.

As hinted in the Super Bowl trailer, he's going to be heading out on some sort of solo mission, which is an intriguing idea, particularly as AUDI seem to have spoiled that Endgame will see him embarking on a rescue mission of some sort.

In purely aesthetic terms, he's also getting some new armour.
