9. Pip The Troll

It seems like ages ago now, but even before the Infinity War production really kicked off in real terms, there was exciting news that Peter Dinklage was being added to the cast for an unspecified role. Given the importance of Adam Warlock to the Infinity Saga comic book storyline, it was inevitable that rumours would suggest that role to be his side-kick Pip the Troll (particularly as some fans have no imagination beyond thinking Dinklage would have to play a small character).

While it might be a little odd to have him involved without his buddy, he's actually an important part of the wider story in his own right, at one stage leading one version of the Infinity Watch set up to protect the Gauntlet from other dangerous enemies getting their hands on it. And it wouldn't be outside of the realms of possibility to see him introduced as a sort of universal elder who fills in the historical narrative of the Stones.

Would he qualify as "crowd-pleasing", though? Certainly not on the same scale as Nova, but seeing the excellent Peter Dinklage in the MCU is legitimately exciting enough to make it count somewhat.
