Avengers: Infinity War - 10 Surprise Cameos That Could Still Happen
2. Kate Bishop
Despite supposedly having a significant part in both Infinity War and Avengers 4, Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye has largely absented the spotlight in the run up to both those films' releases. With rumours that he could be set to depart the Hawkeye persona altogether and adopt a new one - Ronin - it would appear as though the Avengers are in need of a new archer.
When Barton switched identities in the comics, the Hawkeye mantel fell to Kate Bishop, a young woman just as if not more proficient with a bow as the Swordsman's original apprentice. Kate later took on a key role in Matt Fraction and David Aja's seminal Hawkeye comic before leading the series in its entirety when Kelly Thompson took the reigns in 2016, and while Barton is still the more famous of the pair, Kate's cinematic debut is long overdue.
With fans desperate to see a Netflix adaptation of the Fraction/Aja series, and with Barton's future still up in the air, bringing in Kate for Infinity War would be a great nod for fans to get excited about, and provide the perfect replacement should Renner bow out in Avengers 4.
We've seen some great fan posters for Kate appearing in the MCU, and while Hawkeye is still the (wrongful) subject of barbs by fans, Bishop would no doubt go far in setting those conceptions well and truly in the dust.
