So sayeth Joe Russe: “he survived.” Which probably no-one was even wondering about, but it's nice to have some confirmation all the same.

Impact:

In terms of Avengers 4, minimal, because there's no way he was going to appear in a cameo anyway. He's just not valuable in the Thanos story.

BUT, there's a chance that the sass-talking duck might appear in Guardians Vol 3 for his third cameo - becoming a sort of Stan Lee surrogate for James Gunn - and this clears the road for that.
