10. The Dick Joke

Given that this is a Disney movie and one aimed squarely at a family audience (hence the PG-13 and 12A ratings it got on either side of the Atlantic), there's a surprising amount of adult material that the Russos managed to get under the radar.

Obviously, there's the whole mass murder thing and the fairly graphic ways Loki, Gamora and Vision, in particular, die (the first is particularly close to the knuckle for a family flick), but there's also a thinly veiled erectile dysfunction allegory, a joke about Groot's sperm ("sap"), a reference to Thanos' "nutsack chin" and a dick joke.

Most of it comes from the Guardians (and that's not to mention the whole eyeball/butthole bit) but it's the dick joke that might be more lost than the others. When Thor, Groot and Rocket are on the way to Nidavellir, Groot says he needs the bathroom, to which Rocket says he should just go in a bottle and nobody would care about seeing his penis anyway because "who hasn't seen a twig?"

It's brutal and hilarious but learning that Thor can speak his language pretty much overshadows what the conversation is actually about.
