There's a reason why Thanos is so keen on getting his hands on the Time Stone - and why he sent arguably his most powerful Black Order member (Ebony Maw): he actually needs it to help him find the Soul Stone.

This theory suggests that the Soul Stone has been lost for some time and the only way to find it is to return to the last time its location was known, which would - of course - require the Time Stone.

Well, we know that Avengers 4 has a big chance of time travel being a key plot point thanks to set leaks and while it had been assumed that that would be a response to several heroes dying, it makes more sense for it to be linked to the search for the Soul Stone.

The more you think about it, the more Avengers 4 being focused on finding the Soul Stone specifically makes more and more sense, and the time travel theory would certainly play into that well.
