Avengers: Infinity War - How ALL 18 MCU Movies So Far Tie In
14. Captain America: The First Avenger
Mentions Of Infinity Stones?
The First Avenger featured the first legitimate appearance of an Infinity Stone - the Tesseract (otherwise known as the Space Stone), which had been under the protection of Asgard until it was carelessly lost on Earth and recovered by HYDRA who used it to develop special weapons. And plan global dominion, without any real realisation of the true power of the thing.
Obviously, at this point, nobody knew it had an Infinity Stone inside it (other than Thanos).

As if you've missed it from the trailers, Captain America's whole "I could do this all day" spirit of standing up to bullies (which he does not only when he's a weakling but also with Hitler and HYDRA), which was born in this movie, will come back into play in Infinity War.
As shown in the trailer, Cap will actually stand up to Thanos individually, in a scene that echoes him fighting off his bullies from this movie, and it will probably end with Steve dead. So a thread started in this movie will come full circle in Infinity War.
Hopefully, we'll also see the return of Red Skull in some fashion as he wasn't actually killed by the Tesseract: rather, he was sent away somewhere, and given how good a villain he is, a return would be absolutely welcome.
