Mentions Of Infinity Stones?

Two appearances in fact, as the Tesseract became the heart of the story and the object of a newly unveiled Thanos' attentions and the Mind Stone made its clandestine debut inside the sceptre The Other gave Loki to help his conquest of Earth.

It's still a little confusing why Thanos would hand over an Infinity Stone to an untrustworthy ally in order to get another Infinity Stone, but it's probably just that he didn't know he had a Stone. Sure, that makes him look an idiot, but it's better than him WILLINGLY giving it away.

Relevant Story Details

More than anything, The Avengers turned Tony Stark's attention to the massive unseen threats that the universe could hold to Earth, which has haunted him ever since. Since the Chitauri invasion, he's been obsessed with coming up with measures to protect humanity from that sort of threat, which he is convinced is coming again. In the shape of Thanos, his prediction is about to come true.

The use of the Tesseract to open portals in space (and potentially between dimensions) will also come into play, as Thanos will use it to insta-travel (as confirmed by the trailers) and could use it to open up the multiverse (even as a weapon).

It's also likely that Loki's deception of Thanos - in telling him that humanity was a push-over - will come back to haunt him in Infinity War as he's punished (possibly killed, in fact).
