BAFTAs 2017: Predicting Every Winner

1. Best Film

La La Land Ryan Gosling Emma Stone
Summit Entertainment

Prediction: La La Land

Yes, you're probably sick of seeing the words La La Land by this point, but even though it faces stiff competition from Manchester by the Sea and Moonlight in particular, expect the Best Film BAFTA to simply be another trophy the L.A.-set musical collects on its way to the Oscar podium.

Should It Win?: All of the other nominated films are more interesting and important than La La Land, but it's a charming, entertaining crowd-pleaser, so it's hard to hold too much against it. The other nominees are all a bit serious and mostly gloomy, and after the 2016 everyone had, you can't blame BAFTA voters for wanting something lighter.

So, if our predictions are correct, the night's big winners will be La La Land (8 wins), I, Daniel Blake (2 wins) and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2 wins).
