Batman v. Superman: 10 Actors Who Could Play The Riddler

9. Edward Norton

DCDCIt would be somehow fitting if the scenario to emerge whereby the wordplay-loving Edward Nygma where to be played by a man also named Edward. Of all the possible candidates with the Christian name Ed, there are none more fitting than Edward Norton. The 44-year-old certainly wouldn€™t make an interesting Riddler just in virtue of his name however. As an actor Norton is known as being an obsessive perfectionist. Not only did he manage to receive final cut of American History X but he supposedly clashed with his directors while shooting both Red Dragon and The Incredible Hulk (and subsequently refused to promote the Marvel film). Not only could this potential rift with Marvel create the perfect scenario for Norton to defect to DC, but his obsessive nature is arguably very comparable to the puzzle-crazed Riddler who must always task himself with devising more intricately crafted brain-teasers to thwart his enemies. Playing a character like Riddler could arguably come very naturally to Norton. Norton is known to dabble in method acting and would certainly immerse himself in the part of the Riddler were he to be the man to play DC€™s green-clad villain. Having an actor as talented as Norton committing so fully to the role of the Riddler could boost the appeal of Batman Vs. Superman immensely.
