1. An Entire City

This cityscape, boasting rows upon rows of fake buildings, must've been time-consuming and very costly to produce. Nobody's going to spare this frame so much as a thought when they watch the movie, and yet it would've presumably been weeks of work for the VFX artists and thousands of dollars for Warner Bros.

The DC Comics canon is filled with fictional cities, and creating a unique Metropolis skyline in the digital realm seems to be the movie universe's way of respecting that. Back in Tim Burton and Richard Donner's day they might've used matte paintings for the same effect, but nowadays the solution to most creative questions is CGI.
