Batman V Superman: 7 Reasons Ben Affleck Is The Best Batman Ever
5. He's Great As Both Batman & Bruce Wayne
It's in this particular department that a lot of actors in the past have failed in their performance as The Dark Knight: they've either made Bruce Wayne a bore in his private life or they've leaned too far into the playboy persona as to make the character's alter-ego as Batman entirely implausible (here's looking at you, Clooney). Ben Affleck, on the other hand, renders Bruce Wayne an interesting character both when he's at home and when he's out and and about as a social butterfly. In a way, Bruce Wayne's public persona might be viewed as an extension of Ben Affleck's own; after all, more than any of the other actors who have played him to date, perhaps, Affleck has been the subject of countless tabloids and newspaper stories; he's walked the red carpet, flashing that perfect - and occasionally insincere - smile. Affleck knows this world inside out, and he plays it accordingly: he gets the character. But this take on Bruce Wayne is also a more action-orientated guy - he's not afraid to get stuck in even when he's not wearing the costume, as witnessed in the opening scene that has him driving through the streets of Metropolis and dodging falling skyscrapers. As such, the divide between Bruce and Batman isn't as clearly defined; they're blurring into one, but - considering the length of his career - this makes sense.
