Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice - 10 Major Concerns Fans Still Have

9. Release Date Shenanigans

Batman v Superman was originally scheduled to be a massive part of the biggest blockbuster movie year ever on July 17, 2015. The Avengers, Jurassic World, James Bond, Star Wars, and the first ever pairing of the World€™s Finest all in one year? No 365-day period could contain that much star power and no year will have to. Earlier this year, Warner Bros. bumped Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice to May 6, 2016. That would have been fine, except that Marvel Studios had already booked that date for an untitled release, later revealed to be Captain America 3. The Marvel vs. DC war that was usually most intense on the comic book level erupted on the more mainstream platform of movies. Fanning the €œus vs. them€ flames was hardly necessary and ultimately pointless, as everybody knew one studio would eventually move. When Marvel stood its ground, Warner Bros. moved Batman v Superman to its current release date of March 25, 2016. Warner Bros. President of Production Dan Fellman chalked the whole thing up to bad reconnaissance in thinking Marvel wouldn€™t hit that date. This left Warner Bros. with a black eye, as headlines around the web accused the studio of losing the game of chicken it started. This is probably the easiest concern for Warner Bros. to overcome. There is enough time between now and the release of the film for everyone to forget all of this nonsense ever happened. The key is making sure Warner Bros. hits this new date and delivers a film strong enough to take full advantage of the six weeks Batman v Superman will have to itself at the box office.
