Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice - 10 Major Concerns Fans Still Have

10. Man Of Steel Hangover

It was always possible and even likely that Man of Steel would be the launch point of a DC cinematic universe. It just seemed as though Superman would have a little more time to himself before hanging out with any of his costumed pals. Even director Zack Snyder and writer David S. Goyer said they preferred it that way during press interviews in June 2013. Man of Steel was not the runaway hit Warner Bros. expected it to be. Apparently, $668 million worldwide wasn€™t enough. In truth, Man of Steel performed fairly well considering the real problem for the film and now its follow up was/is its mixed critical and audience reception. Man of Steel was not universally liked. Critics were split (56% on Rotten Tomatoes) while opening night audiences gave the film an €œA-€ CinemaScore. The latter is a good mark, but whatever word-of-mouth really came out of theaters prompted a nearly 65% box office drop in Man of Steel€™s second weekend. Meanwhile, the most dedicated of fans still argue on Twitter over the tone of the film and some of its more controversial moments. History has shown the benefits of building a team up movie on a solid, crowd-pleasing foundation of solo films. While it€™s possible Batman v Superman won€™t need a similar level of support, it would certainly help if its one foundational film had been better received.
