Batman V Superman Trailer: 7 Things You're Wrong To Bitch About It

5. Lex Unleashes Doomsday

DC and Warner would be hard pushed to hang an entire movie on the bubbling animosity between two of their properties. They need the merchandise sales that come from having two heroes share the screen and they're in no position to really follow Marvel's established characters down a full-blown civil war route just yet. So there really had to be something more to BvS, and it's thrilling to see Doomsday pop up to show exactly what the stakes will be when Bruce and Clark put aside their differences and Lex decides to take matters into his own hands. It's nice to get an idea of what the endgame to Lex's plan looks like in Dawn Of Justice, and the presence of Zod's corpse gives us just enough reason to believe that events are more closely tied to Man Of Steel than we may previously have thought. Doomsday could not only give DC's epic a modern creature-feature vibe, but if Supes realises he's responsible for Doomsday and tries to save him to atone for all that neck snapping then there would be an even deeper level at play rather than just setting a CGI monster on the loose. The main bone of contention here seems to be that it's been confirmed that there will be a third party threat at all, which is a bit daft - of course there would be, and we've not really had much beyond the simple notion confirmed.
