A name that arose the other day in the comments section of WhatCulture when discussing future James Bonds, Michael Fassbender is a much sought-after and hugely respected name who would play a spellbinding Bruce Wayne. The Irish-German star is famous for his effortless portrayal of tormented personalities; that and a hypnotising screen presence would make him a great choice alone, but just look at his versatility, and the mind just boggles on what unknown qualities he could bring to the role. He's certainly play more of an intellectual Batman to a physical one, but he's an actor who, like Bale, would totally immerse himself in the part. Whether he fancies playing two superhero goliaths - he's Magneto in the X-Men films - is another matter. But there's no denying he'd be a mouthwatering replacement for Affleck.
