7. Milo Ventimiglia

Like Michael C. Hall, Milo Ventimiglia is another lesser-known name, most famous for his stint on Heroes, as the lovely Peter Petrelli. As Ventimiglia proved on that show, he's a captivating actor with both likeability and a vicious side. Like Hiddleston, he's not particularly well-built, but he's someone who feels like a superhero already; he'd provide an interesting contrast to Cavill and would relish the opportunity of such a huge break. Whether he's macho enough to take on the role is perhaps the biggest question facing him; but having declared that he's a huge fan of the character, and of the Nolan films, he's not an actor who'd turn it down if the part fell to him.
